Walker & Dunlop expanded its senior care investment sales business in a big way, bringing in Managing Directors Mark Myers and Josh Jandris and Vice Presidents Jordyn Berger, Alex Vice and Mike Surak of IPA Seniors Housing, a division of Marcus & Millichap. The Chicago-based team will build on W&D’s existing multifamily property sales platform by bringing a new focus on seniors housing and skilled nursing property sales, building on W&D’s existing multifamily platform. They will also work closely with Walker & Dunlop’s senior housing financing group, which originated over $900 million in debt financing in 2018.
Prior to making this move, the IPA team had closed over $5.3 billion of senior care transactions throughout their careers.
Wow. Big change for Mark and his team.
You’re not kidding, and a big push for Walker & Dunlop into the investment sales market for seniors housing.
Thanks, Kevin. Yes, it is a big change, and one we weighed heavily after spending decades at one firm. We made this strategic decision based on the synergies between our platform and Walker & Dunlop’s top-rated financing and multi-family investment sale platforms.
Exactly right, Steve. The synergies between our team and Walker’s are immense, from broadening their apartment sales platform into 55+ seniors and ILF’s, to financing seniors housing for our clients and sell-side advisory for Walker’s seniors housing clients. Very strategic for us and them.
Good luck on the move!
