Long-time luxury home developer Toll Brothers has joined a slew of other builders to break into the active adult market. It most recently announced the anticipated opening of Regency at Waterside in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, which includes 496 high-end single-family homes, carriage-style townhomes and a community clubhouse for seniors. Prices range from mid-$500,000s to upper $700,000s.
Across its 227 acres of landscaping and four “collections”, buyers can choose between 23 different one- and two-story story home designs. The 10,700-square foot clubhouse contains an outdoor and indoor pool, a pavilion, fire pit, fitness center, putting green and walking trails throughout the community amongst several other amenities. Model homes are anticipated to open in winter 2021.
Regency at Waterside is among several new active adult communities being built by Toll. In a company statement, Toll noted that the growing population of adults working remotely or willing to move into their retirement homes earlier than usual has driven their desire to construct more of these communities.
So far in 2021, Toll announced the intent to develop Regency at Santa Rita Ranch in Austin, Texas in March, and Regency at Esperanza in Boerne, Texas in May — both of which are active adult communities. We are sure we will see many more developments from Toll in the near future.
