One of the pioneers of the growing active adult sector announced the groundbreaking of a new community in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The project will be of typical Del Webb size: so, 1,100 single-family homes with an abundance of amenities. Del Webb Southern Harmony will offer 12 single-story home designs with 2-4 bedrooms, large kitchen islands, tall sliding glass doors to maximize natural light and flow easily between indoor and outdoor living, and spacious owner’s suites with spa-like baths.

The open-concept residents’ clubhouse will be anchored by a great room leading to a large patio and event lawn with fire feature. Adjoining the great room will be a fully equipped state-of-the-art fitness and aerobic wing with an indoor pool. There will also be a dividable multi-purpose room for club activities, meetings and social events. Amenities outside the clubhouse will include a large, zero entry pool with sun deck and cabanas, tennis, pickleball, walking trails, bocci, fire pit and an outdoor kitchen area. In addition, a full-time Lifestyle Director will be on-site to develop and facilitate the community’s calendar of events.

Del Webb’s parent company PulteGroup, Inc. also donated two acres of land at the front of the community to Rutherford County to build a new fire rescue station. Located across Nashville is Del Webb’s other community in the area: Del Well Southern Springs. Opened in 2017, it features around 800 homes on 307 acres in the town of Spring Hill. With the growing number of retirees in the Nashville area, because of the warmer weather but also Tennessee’s more favorable tax environment, expansions or new construction projects could be on the horizon.
