Irving Levin Associates is headquartered in the small town of New Canaan, Connecticut, with a population of just over 20,000. According to statistics from the Department of Health, residents who are 65 and over have a vaccination rate of 99.64%. That means that fewer than 20 have not been jabbed.

While the older residents have a greater incentive to get vaccinated, given they have been the most vulnerable to COVID, that is an incredible number. But the most surprising number was the age cohort of 16 to 44, where 96.29% have been vaccinated. That is higher than the national averages for residents in any kind of senior care community. What is weird is that it is also higher than the 45 to 64 age cohort, which had a vaccination rate of “just” 85.41%.

Another big surprise was that 70.88% of the 12 to 15 age cohort has been vaccinated, especially since their eligibility came at a later date. The kicker is that this data is now three weeks old, so the percentages are obviously a bit higher now. As a result, you just don’t see many masks anymore, except for the very young ones who, science tells us, have a very low rate of infection as well as a low rate of transmission. Hmmm.
